Jump of the laja
The Laja Falls or Salto del Laja, are four waterfalls of the La Laja River, located in the Biobío
Region (Chile). It is located 25 km north of the city of Los Angeles, being
this the limit with the commune of Cabrero.
Upstream of the
waterfalls the river is quiet and very low, being able to be easily waded, and
downstream it is reduced to a deep and narrow canyon that remains until the
town of La Aguada of the Commune of Yumbel. From there it travels for another
29 km before contributing its waters to the Biobío river (which makes here go
to another page).
The surrounding flora
is constituted by native vegetation of boldo, hawthorn, maiten, peumo,
corcolén, quillay, liter, arrayan, fern, nalca, willows and alders.
attractions for travelers to the south of Chile. Currently there are a number of tourist services, such as hotels, campsites, restaurants, cabins, picnic areas, handicrafts. Also adventure tourism, trekking, canopy, kayaking and cycling.
