Cuesta del obispo
The Cuesta del Obispo corresponds to a steep and zigzag
section of the provincial route 33, located between the Maray area of the
Escoipe gorge and the Piedra del Molino (3348 masl), in the province of Salta,
northern Argentina, connecting The valley of Lerma with the high valley
Calchaquí.
The slope consists of a
consolidated road, wide, enripiado and in permanent conservation that is
meandering in its ascent. A few hundred meters before reaching its top there is
a viewpoint from where you can observe the dizzying slope in almost all its
extension.
Of approximately 20 kilometers of extension and
to 57 km of the city of Salta, can be reached through the provincial route Nº
33. The slope ascends from the limits of the locality of Chicoana to 1270 msnm
until reaching its stop In the Stone of the Mill To 3340 msnm, where the
Provincial Route 33 crosses the national park Los Cardones towards Cachi.
Overhanging ravines and
cliffs to reach the top can be seen different cloud formations suspended midway
and condors overflying the place at a few meters high throughout the year.
